Palm Pre-views, or Palm Pre Previews
I know you are sick to hear about the Pre, but you got to see what this is: it’s Palm Pre screenshots. Now, shall we continue?
It certainly looks like that the Palm Pre have an awesome-looking interface. I have to say, it certainly looks like the Mac OS X, especially with that Dock. I also like the cut & paste function that’s built on this phone, as well as the automatic backup, and the browser. It seems like that the Pre is really an iPhone killer. Did I mention that it also does screenshots? (iPhone’s going down, bro)

Web Browser
The web browser can display full HTML. You will not get the toned down version of the web, you will get all of it. It also accept JavaScript, allow cookies to be stored, and can block pop-ups. However, I do wonder what rendering engine Palm used in this phone; hopefully it’s not the damn WebKit Safari use. Also, PC Mag reported that Palm Pre will get Flash 10 support sometime in 2009. I’m not expecting it to support Flash at start though. Still better than Apple though! (The iPhone is never getting Flash, by never I mean at least a year.)
Automatic Backup
The Pre will have an automatic backup feature that backs up your data every night. Handy feature, unlike the iPhone, especially with iTunes that want to erase your stuff on every other computer except for the one that you initially synced with.
Other things you might not know
According to these screenshots, the WebOS also allows finger gestures to switch between apps. With the capability of background processing on the Pre, this would be a very handy feature that the iPhone cannot offer.
Also, a screenshot shows the terms of services for Palm service. The 1st condition is something about modifications. Does it mean that we cannot mod the Palm device in order to use its automatic backup features and other Palm services?
Note: The site in these links is down right now. We will keep you updated. Hopefully it’s not Palm who killed them because of this “leak”.

It’s a WebKit-based browser. I think they announced that as early as, well, day 1 when the first introduced the Pre.
Must of missed that. That sucks! I’m really disappointed.
