Windows 7 Starter sucks, What a bummer
We already know that Microsoft removed the 3 app limitation on Windows 7 Starter. Let me just cut the bullshit, and tell you what’s missing from Windows 7 Starter:
- Aero Glass, No Taskbar Preview, No Aero Peek – Annoying, but I think I can live with that.
- Personalization features (changing background etc) – WTF?! You son of a b*tch. Fix it MS!
- Switching users without logging off – I guess netbook really is an one-person machine.
- Multi-Monitor support – Netbook really don’t matter.
- DVD Playback – Annoying, for people with an external DVD player. Hopefully 3rd party apps can fix this.
- Win Media Center – Don’t really matter because apps like Boxee are usually better than WMC.
- Domain support for business and XP mode – No one really cares. It’s a god damn netbook.
- Remote Media Streaming – Now that just makes me mad. Netbook is suppose to have everything done on the internet, including media streaming in case you don’t know (MICROSOFT!). You have to have the damn streaming function! What the F%$^ can you store on a damn netbook? huh? FIX THIS SH*T!
More embarrassing news, the blogger for the Windows 7 blog also said he couldn’t bear the Starter edition, and is glad that he moved to Windows 7 Home Premium on his Dell Mini 9. Well, if a MS employee think it sucks, it must suck for us. Moreover, the damn thing costs money! If this is given away for free, I wouldn’t be as mad as I am right now. SO FIX IT OR GIVE IT AWAY! Your F^&*ing choice!
Here’s some quote for you to analyze:
After using Windows 7 Starter out myself on my Dell Mini 9, I loved the advancements that it inherently offered versus Windows XP but also concluded that I wanted more. I like to personalize my Dell Mini 9 the way I want it (because I like showing it off and take it everywhere because it’s so small). I also use it to watch videos and listen to music. Because I also have a portable DVD drive, I also sometimes watch movies on my Dell Mini 9 as well. I believe that the majority of consumers will want a version of Windows 7 – like Home Premium – that will make their small notebook capable of all the things that you could do with an “traditional” PC, like playing movies, working with documents, listening to music, working with photos, and even playing games.
…
I’ve since moved to Windows 7 Home Premium on my Dell Mini 9 and am glad I did.
This is the most ironic thing I’ve ever seen in any sort of company announcement: the blogger, who works for the company, points out the problem about their product, and tells them that he/she is dissatisfied with it. MAYBE LISTENING TO YOUR OWN PEOPLE’S ADVISE IS A GREAT IDEA, MICROSOFT! I’M SURE NOBODY THOUGHT THAT NOT ALLOW THE CHANGE OF THE DESKTOP BACKGROUND IS A GREAT IDEA!
This is the reason why you get hated so much, Microsoft! Listen to your customers; or better yet, listen to YOUR OWN EMPLOYEE! Thank you!
Sorry for all that yelling. I was ranting.
Go ahead and read their blog post yourself. I took a picture of this just in case they take it down.
