The Internet Explorer Chrome Hybrid thingie

Again guys, sorry for the in activeness in the past 10 days. I really didn’t have the time to update.

Let’s talk about hybrids now! Internet Explorer, and Chrome decides to come together and make this weird hybrid, something I like to call Internet Chrome.

Google wants to build a plugin that will drag IE, even though it’s kicking and screaming , to web 2.0. They plan to make the core of Chrome fit into the framework of IE, making it powered by Chrome.

I don’t think anyone will ever use this, other than the ones who are willing to try it out. Let’s think this through:

  1. People who knows better already upgraded to another browser.
  2. People who don’t know about other browsers won’t know about this.
  3. A lot of average users knows about Google Chrome already, and they are using it. One of them is my mom.
  4. People who can’t install another browser won’t be able to install this either.

A lot of news outlet claims that people who can’t install another browser can use this, but did you think of why you can’t install another browser? I know, it’s because that these company system have DeepFreeze or other software like it to prevent you from messing with the system. Some others claimed that it will be easier for average users. I think that Chrome’s GUI looks much easier than IE’s crap.

In conclusion, I doubt anyone will be using this anytime soon. I feel like that this is just another marketing move by Google, to increase the Chrome awareness.

Why not? Well, according to MozCorp, this creates browser soup; and Microsoft is not too happy about this either, of course. http://blog.internetnews.com/skerner/2009/09/mozilla-opposes-google-chrome.html
